These images aren't among the "then" images that have been selected. But they are still interesting. There have been two Union Stations near what is now the Big Y. The area has changed so drastically, we can't figure out exactly where the camera was and in what direction it was pointing. Can you help?
Technical note on these JPEG images: These photographs of the original photographs were taken with an Olympus C-700UZ digital camera. The SHQ setting was used on the camera to get the least amount of JPEG compression. The images were trimmed and "autoleveled" in Photoshop and saved again using maximum JPEG quality. Finally, for this web site, each image was reduced in size and saved using Photoshop's medium JPEG quality. The images are full-color RGB JPEG files. But the colors of the original black and white images bear little resemblance to the colors in these images for unknown reasons. |
